Terms of Service

About these terms

These terms explain the permitted use of iccverify.com and the general framework for enquiries about International Corporate Check (ICC Group) services.

ICC provides background screening, due diligence, third-party risk management, business intelligence and investigative services. The responsible service entity and binding engagement terms should be identified in the relevant agreement.

Browsing the website, sending an enquiry or downloading a sample document does not by itself establish a professional services engagement.

Website information

Website materials provide general information about ICC and its services. They are not a substitute for an agreed scope of work or advice tailored to a particular situation.

Service availability depends on the jurisdiction, lawful access to information, source requirements and the nature of the request. Descriptions of possible checks do not mean that every check is available or appropriate in every country.

Enquiries, proposals and engagements

An enquiry enables ICC to assess the request and discuss an appropriate service. A quotation should be read with its scope, assumptions, validity and any associated terms.

An engagement proceeds through the acceptance process specified in the relevant proposal or agreement. The agreement should identify the contracting parties, deliverables, responsibilities and applicable commercial terms.

Where an engagement agreement addresses a service matter differently from this general website information, that matter is governed by the agreement, subject to applicable law.

Instructions and information supplied

Clients must provide accurate instructions and have appropriate authority to request the work. Information supplied for an engagement must be obtained and shared lawfully.

Clients must identify relevant restrictions, permissions and intended uses. A request must not conceal an unlawful purpose or seek information through prohibited means.

A client’s instruction does not authorise ICC to disregard legal restrictions, source conditions or the rights of individuals.

Notices and authorisations

Screening and verification may require specific disclosures, consent or source authorisation. Requirements depend on the activity and applicable law.

Sample forms on the website are reference materials. They must be assessed for the particular source, jurisdiction and engagement before use.

A website privacy notice does not replace any mandatory standalone screening disclosure, authorisation or consumer rights notice.

Scope and limitations of findings

A report reflects its agreed scope, information available from relevant sources and the period covered. It does not guarantee that every risk, event, record or connection has been identified.

Sources may have incomplete records, restricted access, delayed updates or unavailable information. A source’s failure to verify a claim is not automatically proof that the claim is false.

Allegations, findings, source statements and unresolved discrepancies must be distinguished. An allegation must not be treated as a conviction or established wrongdoing merely because it appears in a record or report.

Timing and changes

Completion can depend on source responses, document availability, local requirements and clarification of instructions.

Any stated timeframe must be read with the relevant engagement conditions. Changes to scope, timing or deliverables should be addressed through the agreed engagement process.

Reports and decisions

Reports must be used for the authorised purpose and by recipients entitled to receive them. Wider circulation or use for a different purpose may require additional permission and legal assessment.

Clients remain responsible for decisions they make using findings and for any legal procedures attached to those decisions. The role assigned to ICC should be defined in the engagement.

Rights to reproduce, distribute or otherwise use a paid report should be stated in the relevant agreement. These website terms do not invent or transfer ownership of report intellectual property.

Confidentiality and personal information

Service information must be handled in accordance with applicable privacy requirements and contractual confidentiality arrangements.

Confidentiality is subject to lawful disclosures, including relevant verification, legal obligations and authorised service delivery. It does not imply that information can never be shared.

Read our Privacy Policy for website and business contacts, our Privacy Notice for due diligence and investigations, and our Candidate Privacy Notice for client screening.

Intellectual property and website use

Website materials may be protected by intellectual property rights belonging to ICC or other rights holders.

You may view and use the website for legitimate information and enquiries. Any reproduction or other use requiring permission must be authorised by the relevant rights holder, except where permitted by law.

Do not misuse ICC branding, present website material as your own, imply an unauthorised endorsement or distribute altered material in a misleading way.

Prohibited activity

Do not use the website or services to:

  • Seek records or access you are not legally entitled to obtain.
  • Impersonate another person or submit misleading instructions.
  • Harass, discriminate against or unlawfully target an individual.
  • Upload malicious content or interfere with website operation.
  • Attempt unauthorised access to accounts, systems or confidential information.
  • Evade source restrictions or applicable legal requirements.

External links and embedded resources may be provided for convenience. They can have their own terms and privacy practices.

An external link does not by itself establish ICC’s endorsement of every statement or practice of that service.

Statutory rights and specific agreements

Nothing in these general terms is intended to remove rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Payment, cancellation, liability allocation, dispute resolution and governing-law provisions should be addressed in the applicable agreement. This page does not supply unapproved commercial terms.

Questions and updates

For questions about website use or a proposed engagement, contact gcc@iccverify.com.

Changes to website terms do not automatically amend a separately agreed service contract. The published page should display the date on which its terms are adopted or updated.
